Classic Margaritas
If you’re going to put out a spread of dips and appies for your friends, then you may as well round it out with everyone’s favourite cocktail! Here’s how to whip up a classic margarita on the rocks.
Makes two drinks.
Ingredients:
3 oz. tequila blanco
2 oz. Cointreau (or Triple Sec)
1.5 oz (approx 3 or 4 Tbsp) of freshly-squeezed lime juice
Kosher salt or flaky sea salt for rim
2 lime wedges for garnish
To make:
Cut a slit into one of the lime wedges and run it around each of the glasses’ rims. Spread salt on a small plate, and rub the rim of each glass in it.
Add the tequila, Cointreau or Triple Sec, and the lime juice to a cocktail shaker along with five or six ice cubes. If you don’t have one, use a mason jar — and then a fine mesh strainer when you pour it out!
Strain the margaritas into the glasses, garnish with the lime wedges, and enjoy!
